Common Applications

Residential Eave Clearance Clears standard 2–4" eave overhangs on residential K-style gutter systems.
Commercial Soffit Bypass Bypasses wide commercial soffits where a single elbow would not provide adequate projection.
Brick Ledge Clearance Bridges brick shelf courses and other masonry projections common on commercial facades.
Architectural Feature Bypass Routes around decorative bands, window headers, and other projecting architectural details.

Installation Overview

  1. Measure the clearance distance from the fascia to confirm a 4" offset is required.
  2. Cut the outlet drop from the gutter outlet to the correct length for the first elbow connection.
  3. Attach the first elbow section to the outlet drop using sheet-metal screws or pop rivets and seal with gutter sealant.
  4. Connect the second elbow section to complete the double-A offset, ensuring the outlet faces the wall.
  5. Insert the downspout run into the lower elbow and secure with fasteners every 6 feet.
  6. Test with water flow and inspect all joints for leaks before completing the installation.

Professional installation recommended. Use OSHA-approved fall protection for all work performed at heights exceeding 6 feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a 4" offset mean on a downspout elbow?

A 4" offset moves the downspout 4 inches away from the building's fascia as it descends, providing clearance for eaves, soffits, brick ledges, and other architectural features before the downspout returns to the wall.

Is this elbow compatible with standard 3x4" rectangular downspouts?

Yes. This elbow is designed for standard 3x4" rectangular downspouts — the most common size used with 5" and 6" K-style gutters. The 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" surface dimensions provide a secure, watertight fit.

What is a Double A Offset design?

A Double A Offset uses two angled elbow sections in the same direction to create the offset distance. This provides a cleaner appearance and greater structural rigidity compared to a single-elbow offset.

Do you offer same-day pickup in Damascus, Oregon?

Yes. GutterAll's Damascus, Oregon location offers same-day counter pickup Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM PT for in-stock items. Call (503) 496-7017 to confirm availability before visiting.

What colors are available?
