Follow these steps for a secure, noise-free installation. Installation requires working at height — use a stable ladder, have a spotter, and follow all applicable ladder safety guidelines.
- Determine strap positions — mark every 3–4 feet along the downspout from top to bottom (every 2–3 feet in high-wind areas).
- Hold the strap around the downspout and flush against the wall; use a level to confirm the downspout is plumb before marking.
- Mark the two mounting hole locations on the wall through the strap's pre-drilled holes.
- Drill pilot holes appropriate for your wall material (wood, vinyl, brick, stucco).
- Insert anchors if required for your wall substrate, then drive the fasteners through the strap holes.
- Confirm the strap is snug against both the downspout and wall — it should not dent the downspout profile.
