The MP 2010-13IN standoff poles are a matched pair of 13-inch heavy-duty steel positioning tools designed to support and hold a gutter section at the correct fascia height during installation. The 13-inch standoff length provides enough reach to hold 5-inch and 6-inch K-style or half-round gutters steady against the roofline while the installer drives hangers or screws — eliminating the need for a second person to hold the gutter in place. Each set includes 2 poles. The MP 2010 orange safety tips are sold separately and required for full system operation.

Used and stocked by GutterAll's own installation crews in Oregon's Pacific Northwest climate. Ships from Damascus, OR within 1–2 business days.

How Standoff Poles Work

Standoff poles solve one of the most common gutter installation challenges: holding a long section of gutter at the correct pitch and height against the fascia while simultaneously reaching overhead to drive hangers. Without a second person or a positioning tool, the gutter must be propped against the roof — which damages the fascia, affects pitch accuracy, and slows down the job.

13-Inch Standoff Distance

The 13-inch length places the installer's hand at a comfortable working distance from the fascia, reducing shoulder strain and allowing full range of motion for driving screws overhead.

Matched Pair

Two poles allow one installer to support both ends of a gutter section simultaneously. Set both poles at the correct pitch marks, rest the gutter, then fasten — no helper needed for runs up to 20 feet.

MP 2010 Tip System

The poles pair with MP 2010 series tips, which grip the front lip of the gutter to prevent slipping during positioning. Tips must be ordered separately — see the related products section below.

Reusable on Every Job

The weather-resistant steel construction means the poles survive job-site storage, rain, and repeated use without degrading. Built for professional crews who use the same tools daily for years.

Using Your Standoff Poles — Step by Step

  1. Attach MP 2010 tips: Thread the orange safety tips (sold separately) onto the end of each 13-inch pole. Verify the tip is fully seated and locked before use.
  2. Mark your pitch line: Snap a chalk line or mark the fascia at your desired gutter pitch — typically 1/4 inch of fall per 10 feet of run toward the downspout.
  3. Set the first pole: Hold the first pole against the fascia at the high end of your chalk line. Rest the front gutter lip on the pole tip at the correct height.
  4. Set the second pole: Position the second pole at the far end of the gutter run, aligning to the pitch mark. Both poles now support the gutter at the correct angle.
  5. Check alignment: Confirm the back of the gutter is flush against the fascia. Adjust pole height as needed before driving any fasteners.
  6. Drive hangers from the center out: With the gutter held in position by the poles, drive hidden hangers or spike-and-ferrule fasteners working from the center of the run outward to each end.
  7. Remove poles: Once all hangers are set, remove both poles and tips. Inspect the run for level and adjust any hangers as needed before completing the installation.

How Many Sets Do You Need?

Solo Installer — 1 Set

One set of 2 poles supports gutter runs up to approximately 20 feet. The matched pair holds both ends of the run during hanger installation.

Production Crew — 2+ Sets

Crews installing multiple gutter runs in a day benefit from two or more sets — one set per installer allows parallel workflows on different elevations.

Volume Discounts

Contractor accounts with volume orders receive preferred pricing. Call (503) 496-7017 to set up a contractor account.

Don't Forget Tips

Each pole requires one MP 2010 tip. Order one tip per pole — a 2-pole set requires 2 tips. Tips are reusable but inspect for wear between jobs.

Customer Reviews

★★★★★

These poles made solo gutter installs manageable. The 13-inch length gives you exactly the standoff you need to position a 6-inch seamless run without a second person holding the other end. Solid metal, no flex. Tips fit snugly.

★★★★★

Bought two sets for our crew. The balance is noticeably better than the shorter 10-inch poles we were using before — less wrist fatigue at the end of a long day. Good quality finish, no rust after three months of outdoor storage.

★★★★☆

Works exactly as described. Just be aware tips are sold separately — I missed that on first read. Once I had the full system assembled it worked great. Price is fair for what you get.

Frequently Asked Questions

What tips are compatible with the MP 2010-13IN standoff poles?

The MP 2010-13IN poles are designed to work with the MP 2010 tip system. The orange safety tips are sold separately. Contact GutterAll at (503) 496-7017 or sales@gutterall.com to order the compatible tip set.

What gutter sizes and profiles do these poles work with?

The MP 2010-13IN poles are compatible with 5-inch and 6-inch K-style (ogee) gutters and half-round gutters. The 13-inch length provides sufficient standoff clearance for both standard residential and light commercial gutter profiles.

How many poles come in a set?

Each set includes 2 poles — one for each end of the gutter run. This allows a single installer to support and position a full gutter section without a second person. For larger crews or longer production days, multiple sets can be ordered.

What is the material and finish?

The MP 2010-13IN poles are constructed from heavy-duty steel with a weather-resistant coated finish. The finish resists surface rust during outdoor job-site storage. The poles are designed for repeated professional use across multiple seasons.

Can these poles be used for DIY gutter installation?

Yes. While designed for professional installers, the MP 2010-13IN poles work equally well for homeowners tackling a DIY gutter project. The standoff length allows a single person to hold and position a gutter section accurately against the fascia before fastening.

Are replacement poles available if one is damaged?

Yes. GutterAll stocks individual poles in addition to the standard 2-pole set. Contact (503) 496-7017 or sales@gutterall.com to inquire about single-pole availability.
